Where dips the rocky highland
Of Sleuth Wood in the lake,
There lies a leafy island
Where flapping herons wake
The drowsy water-rats;
There we've hid our faery vats,
Full of berries
And of reddest stolen cherries.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you
can understand.
A few lines from The Stolen Child by William Butler Yeats
I began this image months ago but I never seemed to have more than a half hour here and there to work on it. I am not so sure I feel its complete, but I am beginning to think I never will. My inspiration was drawn from many classic painters such as Waterhouse and Bouguereau. It was done in Photoshop using custom brushes, also I used the hard round airbrush and soft round.
